Macoupin County Coroner Anthony Kravanya says the boy pronounced dead at the scene of the fire in Virden Saturday was Jacob James, 10. Kravanya says the cause of death appears to be smoke inhalation.

Virden, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Sangamon County Coroner, Jim Allmon, has confirmed the deaths of a 13 year old boy and 34 year old man from Virden.

Both were taken to the emergency room at Springfield Memorial Hospital Saturday morning after being removed from a fire in the 200 block of West Dean Street.

Additionally, Macoupin County Coroner Anthony Kravanya says one person was pronounced dead at the scene Saturday.

The State Journal-Register reports the victims are a man and his two sons, ages 13 and 10.

These deaths remain under investigation by the respective coroners and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

UPDATE: Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon has identified two of the victims as 34-year-old Kyle James and 13-year-old Hunter James of Virden. The Macoupin County Coroner’s Office has identified the third victim as 10-year-old Jacob James.
