Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance (SSGA) published a book to for the benefit of the Springfield and Sangamon County community.

First printed back in the year 2020, The book, titled “Thrive”, was reprinted and recirculated this year to add on additional content.

Ryan McCrady, CEO of the SSGA, spoke on the WTAX Morning Newswatch, and explained what this book is all about.

“The thrive book is a community lifestyle piece that the Growth Alliance produces. our first one came out back in late 2020. It’s used widely by, HR Departments, and Realtors, and people that come to town. Businesses send it electronically through a link to folks they are trying to recruit to come to their business. It’s really an important piece of community lifestyle information to have out there. Our latest version has just been printed and we’re going to be circulating that out throughout the community.” Said McCrady.

There are many books like this that publishers and advertising companies already put out there, such as those guidebooks you may see at a hotel while on vacation. However, the SSGA, didn’t want to take an easy way out by using third parties to write this guide, thus making this “Thrive” a part of the community itself.

“Alot of times you can work with a publisher who will come in and say, ‘hey were already doing a bunch of ads and we’ll do a book like this for you’. The Growth Alliance felt like the best way to do it was to be more genuine and authentic and do our own book. Everything in here is from our community, all of the photography and all of the stories. There’s likely to be people in this book that you know or recognize. It has been a really well received publication,” Stated McCrady

The most recently updated copy of ‘Thrive’ can be found at the SSGA website.
