Springfield, Il. (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – It’s time for the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Making Strides Walk is a great way to raise awareness, unite communities, and contribute to life-saving research and programs.

Tracey Ambrose, one of the 2025 Portraits of Hope Ambassadors and breast cancer survivor, says that for her, being involved with Making Strides is all about working toward a goal. She says she contributes, “so that my daughters and other people’s daughters never have to hear ‘you have breast cancer.'”

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is set for October 12th at Southwind Park in Springfield, Il. The check in process will begin at 11am, with the walk itself starting at noon.

You can register for the event on the Making Strides website.
