Jacksonville, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A 15-year-old girl was killed Friday in a crash in Morgan County that also injured three others.

According to the Morgan County Coroner’s Office, a single-vehicle crash happened around 6:00 p.m. Friday in Morgan County, near the intersection of Mt. Zion Road and Gravel Springs Road.  The coroner says a vehicle traveling east left the road and rolled.

The coroner says a back seat passenger was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.  Our news partners at WAND-TV report the victim is identified as Adelisa “Addy” Rose Johnson.

The conditions of the three others are not clear.

The coroner’s office says Illinois State Police is still investigating.

According to WAND-TV, Rose Johnson was a sophomore at Jacksonville High School, according to district superintendent Steve Ptacek.

“The entire JSD117 community is grieving the loss of Addy, who was a cherished member of our school. She will be greatly missed by students and staff,” Superintendent Steve Ptacek said in the Facebook post. “On behalf of the staff, board, and student body, I offer sincere condolences to Addy’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

The district said counselors, social workers and psychologists will be available to support anyone affected.

The school district also said they are sending their wishes to the students still recovering from the accident and their families.
