State tournaments continue for high school boys and girls basketball teams

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The IHSA State Girls Basketball finals are this weekend at Illinois State University, and several Springfield-area teams are a part of it.

CLASS 3A: Chatham Glenwood will play Trinity Friday at 10 a.m. in the State Semifinals.

CLASS 2A: Pleasant Plains won 3rd Place in their class Thursday, after losing to Central 48-40 in their first game, but defeating St. Edward 53-33.

CLASS 1A: Mount Pulaski defeated Brown County Thursday 47-40, and will play for the state title Saturday at 10 a.m. against Deer Creek Makinaw.

In boys basketball action, Quincy Notre Dame will play Friday at 7 p.m. for the Pleasant Plains Sectional Championship.
