Springfield IL, (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Springfield Area Home Builders Association (SAHBA) has a home building and remodeling show this weekend.
Despite the show’s location has moved around over the years, it was announced that they will be back at their original location for this upcoming show, which is the Orr building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
Admission is free to get into the event and adult beverages, and other concessions, will be available for purchase during the show. The home show will take place this Saturday, February 15 from 9 AM to 6 PM and Sunday, February 16 from 10 AM to 4 PM.
There will be several vendors offering advice, products, and more to anyone who is looking into remodeling or even building a home. and the event is expecting to see up to three thousand people on the floor by the end of the show.
Kathy Ridley, Executive officer of Springfield Area Homebuilders, was a guest on the WTAX Morning Newswatch and explained what we can expect to see at this show.
“We expect about three thousand people through the floor, Stadium Bar and Grill will be there for Concessions, we have Just the Basics Mobile Bar out there for refreshments.” Ridley said.
“We have our title sponsors there which would be Big Dog Construction, Midwest Garage Doors, and United Community bank. We have Jack at Clean-cut Painting and Handyman Services” Ridley mentioned.
Another big vendor that will be there is Knob Hill Landscaping, various roofing companies, and even drywall companies
Jack Geiser, 2nd Vice President of SAHBA, was also on the WTAX Morning Newswatch, and he spoke about why this show will be beneficial to the first-time home remodeler.
“People call in, and don’t really know what the first steps are or how to get started. That’s really the beauty of the home show is that you are able to go through and talk to all the vendors and go to different vendors for the different kinds of projects you have going on, and if not anything, at least get the answers to the questions that you’re looking for” said Geiser.
Ridley backed up Geiser by saying, “Instead of calling all of these places, and driving around town to all their showrooms, they are bringing their showrooms here this weekend to the Orr building.”
