Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A small fire in a state office building Wednesday morning did some damage.

Julie Plunk, Springfield Assistant Fire Chief, told WTAX/CapitolCityNow the fire occurred on the 7th floor of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation building on West Washington Street around 9:30 a.m.

Plunk says the fire was limited to a storage closet.  Crews remained on scene after the fire was put out to help ventilate the building.

It’s not clear what caused the fire.  No one was hurt.
