Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Governor’s Day at the Illinois State Fair begins with the Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association‘s brunch at the BOS Center. The event has traditionally attracted well-known speakers, and 2026 will be no exception. U.S. Sen. and onetime presidential candidate Elizaneth Warren (D-Mass.) will speak at the breakfast Wed., Aug. 19.

Past speakers have included U.S. Rep. and then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), and before-he-was-famous Pete Buttigieg, who was then the mayor of Fort Wayne, Ind., and a late replacement for former vice president and then-future President Joe Biden.

“We’re honored to welcome Senator Warren to the Brunch,” said IDCCA President Mark Guethle in a news release. “County Parties are the backbone of progress in this country, doing the hard, often thankless work that drives change. They recruit candidates, organize volunteers, knock doors, and build Democratic strength in every corner of our state. I can’t think of anyone better to speak about that work than Senator Warren. She’s spent her career fighting for working people, and her commitment to building an economy that works for everyone is exactly what Illinois Democrats have been delivering and will continue to fight for.”
