Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The community came together in a big way during the annual Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon, hosted by Capitol Media Group stations WTAX, WDBR, and WLFZ, to support kids at HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital. Over two days of live broadcasting, heartfelt stories and generous donations poured in, resulting in an impressive $150,499.24 raised for local pediatric care.

The funds will provide:

Lifesaving equipment
Child Life Program services
Music therapy
Comfort items like toys, books, and wagons for young patients.

For two days, listeners tuned in as families shared emotional stories of resilience and hope. Parents spoke about how specialized care and programs funded by donations made a difference in their child’s recovery. From lifesaving equipment to music therapy and the Child Life Program, every dollar helps create a comforting environment for young patients. Listeners donated through phone calls, texts, and online contributions, while the popular Doctors vs. Nurses Challenge added a fun competitive twist to boost giving. Organizers say every dollar stays local, ensuring children in Central Illinois receive the best care possible.

Since its inception in 2003, the Radiothon has raised over $2 million for HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital, proving once again that the Springfield community steps up when kids need help.
