Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Springfield man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle on Springfield’s east side.

Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon says Walter David Arnold, 55, was pronounced dead at a local hospital around 7:00 a.m. Saturday.  An autopsy is scheduled for Monday. 

Allmon says the accident happened some time Friday, near Dirksen Parkway and Rochester Road.  No other details about the accident have been released.
