Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Springfield television station and some of its sisters are officially under new ownership.

WICS-TV says the sale of Newschannel 20 and stations in Champaign, Quincy, Ottumwa, Iowa, and Milwaukee to a company called Rincon Broadcasting Group has completed.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Most of those stations had been owned by Maryland-based Sinclair Broadcast Group.

Rincon says they’re looking to, in their words, reshape local broadcast outlets and is acquiring medium-market-level televisions stations “with long-term growth potential.”

It’s not clear if that will mean the addition of jobs or locally-produced programming, nor if any jobs would instead be cut.

The then-pending sale was first announced in March.
