The state’s new top transportation official has officially been on the job for one month.
CAPITOL NEWS ILLINOIS reports Gia Biagi, an urban planner from Chicago, took over the Illinois Department of Transportation in January.
Biagi said her goal at IDOT will be to speed up construction projects, even if it means more disruption to daily life. She indicated it would be quote – “a good kind of disruption.”
IDOT’s current multi-year spending plan outlines $44 billion dollars of maintenance and upgrades to the state’s highway system, railroads, airports and more.
