Springfield, IL (WAND) – An exciting addition to the Legacy Pointe area is set to open soon. Legends Entertainment is a one-stop family entertainment business, providing indoor and outdoor space for children and adults.

“Legends is a 46,000 square foot family entertainment center,” said Legends Entertainment General Manager Joe Monari. “We’ve got arcade games, we’ve got party rooms, we’ve got five local restaurants and three bars.”

The idea for opening Legends Entertainment came from Managing Partner Bill Marriott’s experience traveling for his kids’ sports tournaments. With the completion of Scheel’s Sports Park, he saw an opening to create a place for visiting families and locals.

“Sometimes you have four to five hours between games, and you don’t necessarily have time to go somewhere far away,” Marriott said. “Here we obviously have Lincoln attractions and things like that, but if you want to stay a little closer to home base, we want something fun for them to do.”

Legends Entertainment is located south of Scheels Sports Park and the two hotels. Marriott said families can check into their hotel, park their car there and simply walk to the new dome or Legends Entertainment.

Marriott and the rest of the team at Legends Entertainment wanted to ensure that they focused on local businesses and talents. That’s why they chose a food court-style dining option, with five local businesses providing their own menus.

The restaurants inside Legends Entertainment will be Sapori Pizzeria and Italian Market, Taco Gringo, Sliders, The Vanilla Bean, and Wellthy Juice Company.

Both Marriott and Monari said they picture a lot of kids enjoying bowling and arcade games, with adults appreciating the 60+ TVs and outdoor area.

“We’re going to have cornhole, games like Jenga, and Connect 4,” Monari said. “We’ll also have an area to sit down outside and relax on those cool nights.”

In total, Legends Entertainment will provide 80 new job opportunities. The team is working on the finishing touches right now, such as completing the parking lots, placing furniture, and getting equipment into the kitchens. They plan to be open by mid-July.
