Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The city’s Oak Ridge Cemetery needs a new director.

The cemetery is the nation’s second most visited – second only to Arlington – because it includes Lincoln’s Tomb.

“Oak Ridge Cemetery is an institution,” said retiring director Greg Tally. “It’s a wonderful place for our community, and it is also a place that helps drive tourism and income into the community.”

Mayor Misty Buscher is asking the city council to confirm Cory Brown Sept. 16.

“Mr. Brown has worked for various funeral homes in our community,” Buscher said. He went to school to become a mortician, so this is something he is very good at.”
