Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Our Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control Dog of the Week is a very sweet and easy going boy. Smudge is 1 1/2 years old and he has been waiting a very long time to fine his forever home.

Smudge originally came to Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center as a tiny puppy. He was adopted quickly but returned when the adopters decided they didn’t have time for a puppy. He was adopted again but was returned because he chased a cat. Smudge is waiting for a home where he can grow into a member of the family.

Kennel life is not easy for Smudge so if you come to meet him please spend time outside with him. When he gets outside he settles down nicely. He’s a sweet and easy going boy who is full of affection. He loves human interaction and just wants to be near his person. With some guidance and assurance to build his confidence Smudge will be a loving companion.

You can meet Smudge and all of the other adoptable pets during shelter hours Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00.
