Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Our Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control Dog of the Week may look familiar to you.

Serenity was our Dog of the Week at the beginning of July. Unfortunately she’s still waiting to meet her forever family.

Serenity was surrendered by her owner in May so she’s been living in a kennel for 4 months. That must feel like an eternity to a fun loving young girl who loves to play and run. Serenity is a big, strong girl who needs someone to spend time walking her and teaching her how to be part of a family. She will be so worth it for the person who will put the effort into her.

Serenity and all of the other dogs at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center are available for foster, foster to adopt, and adoption. Please come on out to meet them. Shelter hours are Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00.
