Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The animals at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center need your help! Our kennels are full. We need to find homes for some wonderful animals who have been waiting months to meet their new families and make room for new arrivals.

Our Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control Dog of the Week is one of our long timers. Duck is a handsome two year old boy who has been at the shelter since November. Unfortunately Duck doesn’t make a good first impression in his kennel. He gets overwhelmed and wants to get out. Once he’s spent some time outside you see a different dog. Duck is sweet and affectionate and calm and well behaved. This good boy is available for foster or adoption.

To celebrate Spring the adoption fee has been reduced to $35! The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip and a lifetime of love, loyalty and fun. Come spend some time with your new best friend during shelter hours Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00.
