Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Checkers is a darling tuxie sweetheart with a tail “light” for extra cuteness, around 13 months old. She arrived as a stray on August 27, was not microchipped, and has gone unclaimed. Checkers came to us underweight. She has been eating well but could still stand to gain a couple of pounds.
Checkers is a wonderful conversationalist. She loved coming out of her shelter cage for her photoshoot and attentions, but she wasn’t very interested in the toys offered.
We don’t know yet how Checkers feels about other cats, but we always recommend a slow and patient introduction. Checkers will go home with you spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated appropriate to age. She is negative for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV).
