Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Birdie is a 2-year-old black Lab mix bursting with fun, spunk, and energy! This lively girl has plenty of energy to burn and would thrive in an active home that can keep up with her playful spirit. Whether it’s running around the yard, going on adventures, or playing fetch, Birdie is always ready for action.

Birdie is as sweet as they come and can’t wait to meet the family she’ll call her own. She absolutely loves to run and play, especially with other dogs, so a home with a canine companion could be a great match. We’re happy to set up a meet and greet to make sure everyone gets along perfectly.

She’s also a bit of a goofy girl who will keep you smiling; and despite her energy, she thinks she’s a lap dog and loves to snuggle up close. Birdie is treat-motivated, which makes her a great candidate for continued training and bonding time—and she already knows basic commands like sit and stay.

If you’re looking for a happy, affectionate, and active companion to share your days with, Birdie might be the perfect fit for you! She’s available for foster or adoption at the Animal Protective League, located at 1001 Taintor Road in Springfield. We are open every day from noon to 5 p.m.
