Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – They won’t perform at 3:00 a.m., but they probably will play their hit song “3AM.”

The Illinois State Fair says Matchbox Twenty is the latest act to take the grandstand stage. They’re scheduled for Sunday, August 16.

“Matchbox Twenty is one of the most recognizable names in pop rock, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the Illinois State Fair,” said Jerry Costello, Director, Illinois Department of Agriculture, in a news release. “It’s a great fit for the diverse music fans who come to the Illinois State Fair.”

“Matchbox Twenty brings an incredible energy and a catalog of songs that instantly resonates with audiences,” said Rebecca Clark, manager, Illinois State Fair, in a news release. “This show will be a can’t-miss moment for fairgoers who grew up with their music and for a whole new generation discovering it.”

Tickets will range from $75 to $150, and you can take part in a pre-show party for another $30.

Tickets will go on sale starting Friday through Ticketmaster.
