UPDATED 8:41 p.m.

Taylorville, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Christian County Judge has denied pre-trial release for a man facing charges in connection with an infant’s death.

Court records indicate a judge made that decision Thursday in the case of Braxton Williamson, 20, Kincaid — so far facing a felony charge of Aggravated Battery to a Child.

Williamson allegedly shook and caused an infant to fall July 31, — a fall that police believe didn’t cause all the infant’s head injuries and hemorrhaging.

Because the name of the child has not been released by proper authorities, despite the name being used on social media, we cannot identify the child publicly.

The judge said Williamson is a “clear and present danger,” according to court records.

He’s scheduled to be back in court August 17th.

Court records also indicate a “Special Assistant State’s Attorney” has been assigned to the case, as has a public defender.

A request for cameras and microphones in the court for Williamson’s first appearance was denied as the judge claimed there wasn’t enough to have a hearing on the matter.
