Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Springfield man who is part of a regional administration of the Lutheran Church is in federal custody after being charged with child pornography.

The U.S. Attorney’s office in St. Louis says Michael William Mohr. 54. was charged Wednesday of one count of producing child porn. He’s being jailed until trial.

Prosecutors claim, according to a news release, devices found at Mohr’s Springfield home had videos of three juveniles in a bathroom. A search of a home Mohr once used in Vandalia allegedly turned up cameras disguised as a wall clock and a Bluetooth speaker.

One of the juveniles told Vandalia Police he discovered a camera disguised as a charger in a hotel bathroom, after Mohr allegedly performed a sex act standing above him.

Another court hearing is scheduled for February 11th in St. Louis.

As of Thursday night, Mohr was still listed on their website as president of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod’s Central Illinois District.
