Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) Women’s Basketball Head Coach, Chad Jones, has been selected for induction in the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) 2026 Hall of Fame Class for Men and Women Coaches.

Inductees will be honored during the IBCA Hall of Fame banquet May 2, 2026, at the Citizens Equity First Credit Union (CEFCU) Arena at Illinois State University.

Jones, who is also a professor of exercise science at LLCC, has been coaching the Loggers since 2001, and has accumulated 427 career victories. Earlier this year he was named the IBCA Women’s National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Division II Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season. He has also earned recognition twice as the NJCAA Central District Coach of the Year, Mid-West Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, and NJCAA Region 24 Coach of the Year.

Selection for the IBCA Hall of Fame signifies the highest level of recognition for a career marked by leadership and significant contributions to Illinois basketball. Under Jones guidance, the Loggers finished last season with a school record of 34 wins and three losses, capturing the Mid-West Athletic Conference Championship, the NJCAA Region 24 Tournament title and the NJCAA Central District Championship.

“It’s an honor to be recognized, alongside some of the best coaches in the state,” said Jones in a recent press release. “This achievement reflects the hard work and commitment of our players, staff and the entire LLCC community. I’m proud of what we’ve built together and excited for what’s ahead.”

“Jones’ success speaks volumes about his dedication and the hard work of the team he has shaped,” LLCC Athletics Director, Diana Couch, said also in a press release, “His leadership has elevated our program to new heights, and this Hall of Fame honor is a well-deserved testament to his impact on student athletes and the sport of basketball.”
