Jack-o’-Lantern Spectacular lights Up Washington Park this weekend

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – This weekend, Washington Park will glow with the warm, flickering light of over 2,500 hand-carved pumpkins as the beloved Jack-o’-Lantern Spectacular returns to the Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon this weekend.

Friday & Saturday, October 17–18
6:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Parking near the park can be tricky, but free shuttles will run continuously from the old Ashley’s Furniture Store, making it easy for guests to hop on and head straight to the festivities.

2,500+ pumpkins carved and lit by volunteers
Scarecrow Row: Local businesses compete with creative scarecrow displays — and you get to vote for your favorite.
Food vendors offering seasonal treats.
New lighting features at the Carillon, including illuminated bells and medallions
Admission
Adults: $10
Children (4–12): $7
Kids 3 and under: Free

Proceeds from the event go directly toward maintaining and beautifying the Carillon, including lighting upgrades, pond repairs, and bell maintenance.

Funds also support the International Carillon Festival and a future museum and event center to enhance educational opportunities for children.

Whether you’re there for the pumpkins, the music, or the magic of the Carillon at night, the Jack-o’-Lantern Spectacular promises a memorable evening for all ages.
