Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – It’s time to get “All Shook Up” at The Muni this weekend. Actors Madi Sweeney and Dancer Bri’ara McKinney stopped by the WTAX Morning Newswatch to discuss the upcoming performance.

“All Shook Up” is known to be a high energy music and dance production, how does one prepare for a production like this?

McKinney answered, “It’s just really important for me at least to do all the basic stuff, like make sure I have drank enough water, had all the meals. I need to eat for that day, to get myself like physically ready. Warming up is really important. I don’t do it as often as I should, but it’s really important that I try to do it when I can. So just like stretching and going over some parts of the dance that I’m still struggling with. just to make sure I really lock them down so I can be, like, as show ready as possible.”

With this being a high energy production, what’s the story about?

“I like to say that the plot of the show is kind of less of a love triangle and more of a love octagon,” said Sweeney. “Pretty much everybody kind of falls in love with each other. The story basically revolves around this roustabout kind of motorcycle guy that comes in and shakes up this otherwise really kind of stagnant town: not allowed to sing or dance, no tight pants, no, anything like really fun in the 50’s. So, he comes and kind of shakes it all up. He just helps everybody see the ways that they all love each other.”
