Chicago, IL (CHAMBANA TODAY) – The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) has expanded its new online licensing system, CORE (Comprehensive Online Regulatory Environment), to include 24 additional license types, marking the completion of Phase 2.3 of the rollout.

This latest update brings the total number of available license applications on CORE to 70, allowing more professionals to apply online instead of through paper-based processes. Among the newly added professions are barber schools, landscape architects, interior designers, canine instructors, and several continuing education sponsors across medical, nursing, podiatry, and therapy fields.

The move aims to streamline and digitize the state’s professional licensing infrastructure by reducing processing times and eliminating the need for paper applications. This update is part of IDFPR’s phased rollout of CORE, which began with a pilot launch in October 2024.

Additional license types and functionalities, including renewals and reinstatements, will continue to be added in future phases. Full implementation of CORE, covering all divisions including real estate, banking, and financial institutions, is expected by August 2026.
