Crime of the Week:  Help identify alleged wallet-snatcher

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a theft.

On August 29th, around midnight officers were called to Main Gate Bar and Grill, located at 2143 N 11th in reference to a patron who had left his wallet behind.

Video from the business shows a white female with dark colored hair, black shirt, and jeans take the wallet placing into a large purse. The wallet contained debit and credit cards.

If you have any information regarding this incident or can identify the individual, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 217-788-8427, submit a tip on our website, or use the P3 app. If your tip results in an arrest you could receive a cash reward up to $2,500.
