Car found in Lake Springfield, no one inside

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A car was found Friday morning in Lake Springfield.

That’s according to Springfield Firefighters Local 37 on Facebook, which said firefighters were called to the lake around 8:00 a.m., with firefighters from the department’s Sonar Team initially located the vehicle, and divers went in to the water, and later determined the car was unoccupied.

A towing company was later brought in to get the vehicle out of the lake.

No word on if any further investigation is being done.  So far, no reports on if anyone was hurt.
