Armed robbery in Rochester; suspects may be in Springfield:  Police

Rochester, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Police in Rochester say they are investigating an armed robbery reported Sunday afternoon.

Police said on social media officers and Sangamon County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to East Main and South Walnut Streets at approximately 3:17 pm. Sunday.

Few details were released, but officials say the victim was believed to be okay.  “The suspects returned to Springfield,” Rochester Police said, providing no other details.

Police say an investigation continues, and that they’re calling it an “isolated incident.”

Anyone with information can contact the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Department, or Sangamon and Menard County Crime Stoppers.
