Two Vehicle Crash In Christian County Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured

A two vehicle crash Friday in Christian County has left one dead and two hospitalized with injuries.

Illinois State Police report the collision occured on Illinois 48 just north of Morrisonville around 3:20 p.m.

In a press release, police say the deceased is a 25-year-old woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was riding in a white 2012 Honda, driven by a 28-year-old Taylorville man who was also taken to the hospital with injuries sustained in the accident.

A 27-year-old man from Normal was driving the other car, a 2016 white Dodge. He was airlifted to the hospital.

Evidence at the scene indicated the Dodge was traveling northbound on IL-48 before turning into the southbound lanes and striking the Honda.

Names of the victims have not been released. Charges are pending the investigation.
