Andrea Little will continue to sit in jail unless someone can post a $1 million bond.
Little made her initial court appearance Wednesday on two counts of aggravated DUI in connection with the death of two people Friday.
“It sounds like it’s not the most severe penalty, but the most severe penalty is aggravated DUI,” said Sangamon County State’s Attorney John Milhiser. “It is a more severe penalty than reckless homicide. It’s just the way the statute and law is written in Illinois.”
Little has a previous DUI. She alledgedly struck the car being driven by Danielle Allen, 16, of Pleasant Plains Friday night. Also killed in the wreck was a passenger of Little’s: Steven Moore, 35, of Jacksonville.
She faces up to 28 years in prison if convicted. Her blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit.
