A former Adams County prosecutor charged with murder in his first wife’s death wants to keep his second wife from testifying at his upcoming trial.

Curtis Lovelace’s lawyers have asked the trial judge to bar testimony by Erica Gomez-Steinkamp.

Prosecutors have identified her as a potential witness in a trial scheduled to start Jan. 25.

Lovelace, who has pleaded not guilty, is accused of suffocating 38-year-old Cory Lovelace at their home in 2006. He was charged with the crime in 2014.

Curtis Lovelace is a former Quincy school board member and Big Ten football standout at Illinois.
