Leibovitz Work on Display at ALPLM

One of the country’s most famous photographers will have her work on display at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield beginning next month.

Annie Leibovitz’s “Pilgrimage” exhibit features more than 70 photographs of iconic American landscapes, places and objects. They are on loan from the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s collection. Subjects in her “Pilgrimage” exhibit include Niagara Falls, Yellowstone National Park, and Elvis Presley’s motorcycle.

Leibovitz also visited the homes of former President Thomas Jefferson and American poet Emily Dickinson to take photographs. The exhibit opens Feb. 8 and runs through the end of August.

The stop at in Springfield is part of a cross-country tour. It heads next to the New York Historical Society.
