CHICAGO (AP) — You know how it is with younger siblings: when they see big brother or sister get something, they want it, too. When Tamar Braxton shows up for the Grammys, she will have the chance get something her big sister Toni has: a Grammy.

Tamar’s album “Love and War” is nominated for best urban contemporary album and the title track is up for best R&B song and R&B performance.

Braxton sang in a group with her older sister and their siblings before Toni went solo and became a star.

The other sisters formed a group called The Braxtons and didn’t have much success.

Then came the reality TV series — during which Tamar became the breakout star, getting her own hit series.

Braxton notes she shouldn’t be seen as a reality TV star who tried to launch a recording career — but a singer who has been working on her craft while doing a TV show on the side.
