Simon Cowell is a dad – his girlfriend Lauren Silverman has given birth to the couple’s first child.

The 36-year-old new mum welcomed a baby boy at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York on Friday.

Cowell shared pictures of the baby, who the couple named Eric, on Twitter.

Music and TV mogul Cowell dashed across the Atlantic from London when he heard Silverman had gone into labor on Friday morning, so he could be by her side for the delivery.

The boy is the 54-year-old’s first child and Silverman’s second – she also has an 8-year-old son with her ex-husband Andrew Silverman.
