Lily Allen’s fake handcuff photo sparks police investigation

A police investigation has been launched in Australia after British pop star Lily Allen shared an Instagram.com photo of herself pretending to be arrested by a cop Down Under.

The singer was being escorted through Gold Coast Airport in Queensland on Sunday, when she asked one officer to pose for a picture, in which Allen is featured kneeling on the ground with her head down as the cop places her in handcuffs.

She posted the prank snap online, ahead of her appearance at the Splendour In The Grass festival, alongside a caption which simply read, “uhoh (sic)”, but the image has landed the policeman in trouble with department bosses due to an apparent a breach of protocol.

A spokesman for the Australian Federal Police (AFP) tells the DailyMail.co.uk, “At her request members involved placed open handcuffs (on her) for a photo opportunity.
“It appears the members involved were caught in the moment and standard protocol were breached. It is subject to internal processes.

The photo, which garnered more than 7,700 ‘likes’ online, has since been removed from Allen’s social networking page, although she has yet to comment on the controversy.
